Bovines smuggling bid foiled

JAMMU, Aug 21: Nagrota and Gharota police under ‘Operation Kamdhenu’ jointly foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 12 cattle.
As per police sources, on specific information, a joint team from Nagrota and Gharota Police Stations laid a naka by trekking around 7 kilometers on foot and intercepted some persons carrying flock of bovines’ animals.
Durng questioning, the persons failed to give satisfactory reply and managed to escape by taking benefit of the darkness.
The team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by SI Lakhbir Singh, SI Daljeet Singh, HC Kewal Singh, SgCt Rajinder, Constable Ashwani Kumar, Constable Rattan Chand and SgCt Rajinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Yashbir Singh, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta rescued 12 cattle, which the accused were smuggling towards Reasi from Jammu.
A team from Gharota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Gurmeet Singh also assisted the Nagrota Police in foiling the bovines smuggling bid.
A case under FIR Number 197/18 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
