Bovines smuggling bid foiled

KISHTWAR, June 22: Chatroo Police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 50 cattle and arresting two persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a special team led by SHO Chatroo Inspector Sandeep Parihar under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Devindar Singh and SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt laid naka at Katkhaie Dhar and intercepted two persons carrying flock of bovine animals.
During questioning, the persons failed to give satisfactory reply and police arrested them. Around 50 bovine animals were rescued from the possession of the arrested persons, which they were taking to Kashmir.
The arrested persons were identified as Mir Hussain, son of Ghulam Gujjar of Gujjar Basti Nagani Ghad Keshwan District Kishtwar and Ashiq Husain Butt, son of Ghulam Mohd Butt of Ahlan Gadol Tehsil Kokernag District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 37/2021 under Sections 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Chatroo and investigation started.
