Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 25 cattle rescued, 2 arrested

JAMMU, July 24: Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 25 cattle and arresting two persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AT-3795.
During checking, police team rescued 13 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was identified as Bilal Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi of Banihal District Ramban.
Meanwhile, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station rescued 12 bovine animals from a truck bearing registration number PB06V-8896 at Suketar and arrested one person.
The accused has been identified as Ramneek Singh, son of Harnik Singh of Ward Number 3 Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli Police Stations and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shokat and SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Rajesh Khajuria made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and SP Rural Suram Singh.
