Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 31 cattle rescued, 3 arrested

JAMMU, Nov 22: Nagrota and Manwal Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 31 cattle and arresting three smugglers.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shokat under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza in the wee hours and intercepted a truck (tralla) bearing registration number CG04MP-3354.
During checking, police team rescued 15 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver and his associate.
The arrested persons were identified as Anand Kumar (driver), son of Hazari Lal of Koria Chattisgarh and Bagh Hussain, son of Noor Din of Beli Charana District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 431/19 under section 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Manwal Police Post during checking at Nadal intercepted a truck bearing registration number AS01JC-9431.
During checking, police team rescued 16 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested one person, who has been identified as Kamaljeet Singh, son of Behari Lal of Miran Sahib District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 156/19 under section 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Manwal Police Post SI Pawan Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Rajesh Khajuria and SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma.
