JAMMU, June 8: Nagrota, Jhajjar Kotli and Narwal Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 50 cattle and arresting five persons.
As per police sources, teams from Police Station Nagrota led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket, Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Devinder Singh and Police Post Narwal led by SI Achal Rana laid check points in their respective jurisdictions of intercepted six vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AG-5645, JK02S-9811, JK19-5221, JK08J-7202, JK02AA-1035 and JK19-8370.
During checking, police team rescued 50 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested five persons, who were identified as Amjad Ahmed, son of Farooq Ahmed of Qazigund, Arshad Ahmed, son of Sardar Mohammad of Qazigund, Zakir Hussain, son of Fazal Din of District Ramban, Mohammad Mustafa, son of Babu of Tanda Nagrota, Jagti District Jammu and Manzoor Ahmed, son of Mohammad Ayub of District Ramban.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Nagrota, Jhajjar Kotli and Bahu Fort Police Stations and investigation started.
