Bowlers shine as J&K sniff first innings lead

JAMMU, Nov 22: A collective good bowling effort gave Jammu and Kashmir team a good chance to gain first innings lead against Andhra Pradesh on day two of their Group C Ranji Trophy match, here today.
J&K reduced Andhra Pradesh to 191 for eight after ending their first innings at 225.
Earlier, J&K resumed at 173 for six and added 52 runs before being bowled out. Number 10 batsman Waseem Raza played a crucial role with his unbeaten 27-run knock.
Ram Dayal, Mohammed Mudhasir, Owais Shah and Parvez Rasool took 2 wickets each to help J&K reach a position from where they can take a first innings lead.
Andhra opener Srikar Bharat top scored for the side with his 39 before being caught behind off Shah. Their hopes to overhaul J&K score rest on Kakani Harish, who was unbeaten on 21 and giving him company was Marripuri Suresh (17).

Bengal get 1st innings lead despite Pujara ton

Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara started his preparations for the South Africa Test series in right earnest with a century but failed to take Saurashtra past Bengal’s first innings score of 303 as the hosts gained a crucial 78-run first innings lead in a Ranji Trophy group league encounter at Eden Gardens, here.
Pujara scored a well-made 102 but Saurashtra were all-out for 225 with India discard Ashoke Dinda claiming four for 65. Skipper Laxmi Ratan Shukla showed his all-round abilities chipping in with a couple of wickets for 36 runs.

Khadiwale’s 262 powers Maharashtra to 635 against Goa
