JAMMU, July 9: Jammu and Kashmir won a Bronze medal in 1st Sub-Junior National Boxing Championship held at Rohtak in Haryana.
Mohd Zahir of Poonch, who lost in the semifinal to Chandigarh boxer 2-3, won a bronze medal.
Earlier, he defeated his rivals from Rajasthan, Himachal and Bihar in the preliminary rounds.
Mohd Zahir is a trainee of Mushtaq Ahmed, boxing coach of the J&K State Sports Council posted at Poonch.
Zahir has been selected as probable for the upcoming India camp being organised in the Sub-Junior category.
