Boy murdered for Rs 15 lakh

RAJOURI, Oct 12:   Seven-year-old boy Salik Mansoor, whose body was recovered from a plastic bag in an abandoned house in the town about six days back, was murdered for the greed of  Rs 15 lakh.
Disclosing this to the media-persons here today, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, Danish Rana said that arrested couple Imtiaz Ahmed (carpenter) and his wife Shareen Akhtar, residents of Majood (Rajdani) hamlet, in Thanna Mandi and presently residing  at Kheora have confessed their guilt. They both done the boy to death and then packed the body in a plastic bag and kept it in an under-construction house.
Imtiaz who had already worked in the house of  boy’s father, a  Patwari at Shahdara Sharief  for the construction of new house had developed friendly relations with Salik. He had realized that Patwari had huge wealth. Then he hit upon a plan to kidnap the boy and get Rs 15 lakh as ransom from the family to make easy buck.
For this purpose, he reached the bus stop of the boy at around 2 pm on October 7 and lured the boy for offering him Video game. The boy accompanied him to his rented house at Bela Colony. Then the couple tied the boy inside and were looking  for somebody to do mediation for getting Rs 15 lakh ransom money from Patwari.
As he came to know that family members of the boy had started searching for him and police was also on the look out, he got frightened.  He realized that if he released the boy he will tell everything and the police will arrest him.  Then he rushed back to his home in the evening and gagged the throat of the boy and killed him.
During midnight he packed the dead body in a plastic bag and left in an under- construction house.  The accused was planning for the last one and half month and wanted to become rich over night.  For this greed he committed murder of the innocent boy who used to say him ‘Mamu’. Both husband and wife have been booked under Section 302 RPC and the case solved, he maintained.
The DIG appreciated the SIT headed by SP Rajouri, Mubassar Latiffi and maintained that second murder of minor boy  will also be solved shortly.
