Bradman-XI wins 3rd edition of Varmul Cup-2021

BARAMULLA, Aug 2: Bradman-XI Sopore trounced BCC Reds Baramulla in final match of the 3rd edition of Varmul Cup and lifted title trophy along with cash prize of Rs 60000, which was organised by Baramulla Cricket Forum (BCF) at Jhelum Stadium, here today.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar, Secretary J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul and DIG North Kashmir Range, Surjit Kumar were the guests of the event.
The dignitaries of the event awarded cash prize of Rs 60,000 to winning team while Rs 30000 cash prize was given to runner-up team and Rs 10000 cash prize was declared for 2nd runner up team.
Jehangir Lone of BCC Reds was declared as man of the series and awarded with cash prize of Rs 10,000, whereas Asif of Bradman-XI was declared as man of the match for his outstanding century of the match.
During the event, the Deputy Commissioner announced Rs five lacs funds for the development of Jehlum Sports Stadium Baramulla, whereas Secretary Sports Council, Nuzhat Gut gifted one practice wicket for budding cricketers on the spot.
The guests of the events also inaugurated 2nd dugouts along with other equipments which were installed by BCF at Jhelum Stadium.
The general secretary of the Forum said that the main motive cum objective of this kind of tournament was to provide quality cricket to young and budding players and keep them away from the drug menace.
