JAMMU, Dec 25 : Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS) today celebrated 158th Jayanti of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, an educationist and politician notable for his role in the Indian independence movement, with fervour and enthusiasm.
In this connection, DBPS organized an impressive function in the premises of Sabha, in which large number of people from different walk of life were participated it. The function, presided over by the president of the DBPS Ved Parkash Sharma, was started with Vedic Mantras by the religious scholars.
The speakers, who spoke on the life of Pt Madan Mohan Malaviya included Pt Vishwa Murti Shastri, a renowned Sanskrit Scholar, Tawi Andolan President Chander Mohan Sharma, Advocate P C Sharma, President of the NMC Subash Shastri and others.
President of the Sabha, Ved Parkash Sharma described Pt Madan Mohan Malaviya as not only a great leader of the country, but also the person who brought so many reforms in the society.
Tawi Andolan President Chander Mohan Sharma said that Pt Madan Mohan Malaviya was the founder of Vanaras Hindu University and such other institutions adding that Pt Malaviya left his glorious practice as an advocate and felt honoured to become Pandit and also worked for upliftment of common masses.
Advocate P C Sharma appealed to the masses to follow the path of Pt Madan Mohan Malaviya and eradicating the evil of dowry, alcohol, drugs and lavish expenditure in function like marriages etc.
Sabha Vice-president Virendar Mohan Magotra, prominent social activist B S Jamwal, Ex DC, Satyanand Sharma, N C Sharma, M L Sharma, Jagan Nath Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Nanak Chand Sharma, Madan Lal Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, Pt Barita Ram Sharma, Gurdas Sharma, Jia Lal Sharma, S S Baru, K L Sharma, Prem Balotra, Som Nath, Girdhari Lal Sharma, S C Dass Sharma, Vidhyanand Sharma, Ajay Shastri, Pt Chotu Ram, Devinder Sharma (Babu), Rajesh Bargotra, Gopal Sharma, Satpal Sharma, Raman Sharma, Darshan Gupta, Jagdish Dogra, Prithvi Raj, Pt Love Khajuria and others also spoke on the occasion.
