JAMMU, Feb 19: Ian Dev Singh was at his murderous best in his power-packed knock of unbeaten 101 runs off just 58 balls, studded with 12 boundaries and 2 sixes to help JKCA Red register a narrow win over JKCA Green, while Manish Dogra, Sidharth Magotra and Vijay Dogra sparkled for their respective teams in the ongoing T-20 Quadrangular Cricket Series, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association to pick the players for the forthcoming Vijay Hazare and Mushtaq Ali Tournaments at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
Earlier, in the first match, JKCA Blue defeated JKCA Orange in a close contest by 8 runs.
Put into bat, JKCA Blue scored a good total of 185 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Sidharth Magotra was the top scorer with 67 runs off 47 balls, with 8 boundaries and one six, while Aditya Pratap Singh contributed 44 runs off 30 balls with 3 boundaries and 3 sixes. Obaid Haroon scored brisk 31 runs in just 11 deliveries, which included 3 fours and 3 sixes and Parminder Singh scored 26 off 28 balls with 3 boundaries. Sameer Ali took 2 wickets, while Omar Nazir and Vishwajeet Singh claimed one wicket each.
In reply, JKCA Orange, despite riding on a thunderous knock of 86 runs by Manish Dogra, fell just short of 8 runs as they managed to score 177 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Dogra scored 86 runs off 51 balls, with 9 fours and 3 sixes, while Ameek Khan, Rohit Bhat and Adil Reshi contributed 23, 17 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For JKCA Blue, Ramdayal took 2 wickets, while Sohail Andleeb, Asif Rasool, Mohd Muddasir and Manik Gupta claimed one wicket each.
In another match, JKCA Red got better of JKCA Green by 14 runs.
Sailing on a magnificent knock of unbeaten 101 runs by Ian Dev Singh, JKCA Red scored a formidable total of 168 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Ian was in awesome form and butchered the rival bowlers with utmost timing and fluid grace, while dangerous Ishtiaq Rasool and struggling Ahmed Banday contributed 13-ball 25 and 13-ball 14 runs respectively. For JKCA Green, Mehjoor Ali took 2 wickets, while Parvez Rasool, Rahil Singh and Raman Dutta claimed one wicket.
In reply, JKCA Green scored 151 runs in the allotted 20 overs, thus lost the match by 14 runs. Imran Haroon top scored with 22-ball 35 runs, studded with 3 fours and 2 sixes, while Nadeem Dar, Abid Nabi and Arshad Khawaja contributed 24, 23 and 16 runs respectively. For JKCA Red, Vijay Dogra was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 wickets by conceding 27 runs in his 4 overs, while Waseem Raza claimed 2 wickets including the important wicket of Parvez Rasool. Samiullah Beig, Syed Sagar and Rohit Sharma claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by BCCI Level-1 umpires Harbinder Singh, Paramjit Singh, Amit Gupta and Sudhir Singh, while the BCCI Panel scorer, Ashwani Kumar maintained the scorebook.
The matches are being observed by a panel of senior selectors of JKCA including Abdul Rauf, chairman, Shiban Lal Trakroo, Shahid Parvez, Iqbal Shah and Tilak Singh.
