*WCC to lock horns with Ajay Club in last four stage

JAMMU, Mar 13: Puneet Kumar’s murderous onslaught on the rival bowlers in his power-packed knock of 30-ball 88 runs helped Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar to thrash Rajesh Cricket Club by a big margin of 78 runs and enter semifinals of the ongoing 2nd Kashyap Reshi T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Saffron Cricket Club at KC Sports Academy grounds, here.
With the victories of the Whites Cricket Club (WCC) and Ajay Cricket Club in other two matches played today, the semifinals lineup has been drawn in the Tournament.
Now, WCC will face Ajay Club and RCC Srinagar will take on YCC in the semifinal to be played tomorrow and day after respectively.
Earlier, in the first match, WCC defeated Friends Cricket Club in a close contest by a narrow margin of 10 runs.
Batting first, WCC scored a decent total of 194 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Rahul (37), Shanker (36), Sheikh (31) and Adil (31) were the main contributors. For FCC, Amit, Rohit and Manoj scalped 2 wickets each.
In reply, FCC managed to score 184 runs in the allotted 20 overs to lose the match by a narrow margin of 10 runs. Raju was the top scorer with 69 runs off 35 balls, studded with 5 fours and 6 sixes, Anshul contributed 38 runs to the total. For WCC, Amit Sharma took 3 wickets, while Latief and Shanker claimed 2 wickets each. Shanker of WCC was adjudged man of the match for his all-round show.
In another match, RCC Srinagar defeated Rajesh CC by 78 runs in an easy contest.
RCC rode on a brilliant batting display by Puneet Kumar and scored a formidable total of 189 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Puneet was the star performer, who sent the rival bowlers on a leather hunt in his thunderous knock of 88 runs, studded with 7 delectable boundaries and 9 massive sixes. Batting mainstay, Rahul Mussa also contributed valuable 29 runs off 16 balls, with 3 boundaries and one six. The duo put on superb 100-run partnership after the team was struggling at 66 for 5 in 11 overs. For Rajesh Club, Deepak and Rajesh claimed 2 wickets each.
Rajesh Club, in reply bundled-out for a paltry total of 111 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Rajesh top scored with 50 runs off 45 balls, studded with 2 fours and 4 sixes, while Vicky contributed 22 off 21 balls with one four and 2 sixes. For RCC Srinagar, Puneet Kumar and Puneet Wattal shared 7 wickets between them, with Kumar scalping 4/8 in 2.3 overs and Wattal claiming 3/21 in his 4 overs. Puneet Kumar was adjudged man of the match for his magnificent display.
Meanwhile, the rain-interrupted inaugural match was finished today, wherein Ajay Cricket Club got better of host Safrron Cricket Club in an easy contest to make way for the last four stage.
