BSF jawan’s ear chopped off

MENDHAR, May 18:  Over some rivalry, the ear of  a BSF jawan who had come to his village on leave, was chopped off  by members of  a family during village level meet in Mendhar area today.
The police identified as victim as Sepoy Nassir Hussain, son of  Mohd Aslam, resident of Doongi in Rajouri.  It was alleged that during some altercation in the meeting, three brothers Subedar Raqeeb Ahmed, Majid Ahmed  and Mohd Shafiq  of Gursai area took Nasir  Hussain to one side  and one of them chopped off his ear with a sharp knife while others caught hold of him.  They also tried to chop-off his nose but kept it bleeding with deep wound and escaped.
The jawan belonging to 27 Bn  of BSF,  bleeding profusely was shifted to Mendhar hospital and then referred to GMC Jammu.  The police registered a case and started investigation. Illicit relations was said to be the reason behind the incident.
