JAMMU, Nov 4: 126 Bn BSF organized a Civic Action Programme at Govt High School, Koulpur, today.
The programme was chaired by Hari Lal, Commandant.
A large number of people and students from villages Keso, Koulpur, Ben Galar and Kamour participated in the programme.
Earlier, a friendly cricket tournament was organized by 126 Bn BSF at Bn HQ amongst local villages in which village Ben Galar won the tournament.
Hari Lal, Commandant 126 Bn distributed prizes including cricket kit and sports items to the winners the winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Besides this, stationery and sports items were also distributed free of cost among the students of Govt High School Koulpur, Govt Girls Primary School Koulpur, Primary School Ratanpur and Primary School Khanpur. Many dignitaries of the area were also present during the programme.
Refreshment was also provided by the unit to villagers who attended the Civic Action Programme. The response of the local population was excellent. Civil population also thanked Border Security Force and requested to organize more such progarmmes in future.
On the occasion, Hari Lal, Commandant welcomed Sarpanch, Principal, villagers and students and stated that BSF is deployed on the International Border for security of people and to promote safe, secure and prosperous border area. He asked border population to come forward with their valuable ideas, which can be implemented for better management and for betterment of their living standards.
