BSF Paloura scripts thrilling win to lift Inter School Tennis Ball Cricket C’ship

JAMMU, Aug 12: BSF School Paloura registered a thrilling 1-run win over Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu to win District Level Inter School Tennis Bal Cricket Championship as part of the competitions in the discipline of Tennis Ball Cricket, Handball Under-19 (Boys & Girls) and Badminton, being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at  Green Field Gandhi Nagar, Indoor Hall M.A Stadium Jammu and Dogra Ground Shastri Nagar, here.
Batting first, BSF Paloura scored 37 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, while in reply DPS made  36 runs for the loss of 5 wickets, thus BSF Paloura won the match in an exciting contest by 1 run. Main scorers were Ritik of BSF Paloura with 15 runs and Navjot of BSF Paloura with 13 runs.  Aryan and Musaif contributed 13 and 11 runs respectively
Earlier, in the 1st semi-final, DPS Jammu beat RRL Jammu by 7 wickets and in the second semi-final BSF got better of SRML by 21 runs.
The tournament is being held under the supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports and Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
In Handball Under-19 boys final, SRML will take on BSF Paloura tomorrow, while in the 2nd semifinal played today, SRML HSS beat K.C Gurukul by (7-4) goals and in Handball Under-19 girls, Govt. GHSS beat BSF Paloura by 7-2 in the first semi-final, while Presentation Convent defeated SOS by 6-2 in another semifinal.
In Badminton Under-19 girls, MHAC Nagbani trounced APS Miran Sahib by 2-0. In singles, Shivali beat Taruna by 21-5, 21-13 and in doubles, Shivali and Shakshi drubbed Taruna and Amisha by 21-3 and 21-13. In the 2nd semi-final, Presentation Convent defeated RRL by 2-1 sets.
In singles, Jasleen beat Aarya by 21-9 and 21-3, while in doubles, Maniya and Dodda trounced Palak and Aarya by 21-3 and 21-15. In another singles match, Amiksha  of Presentation Convent beat Anamika Sharma of RRL by 21-3 and 21-2.
The matches were officiated by Kiran Jyoti, Sroman Dogra, Sanjay Khajuria and Vikram Jamwal.
