JAMMU, Jan 12: Bharat Darshan tour for the students belonging to remote areas of Jammu region in the age group of 14-16 years, ended with the flagged in ceremony held at BSF Frontier headquarter Paloura here last evening.
The function in this connection was presided over by Ram Avtar, (DIG) PSO, Frontier Jammu. Pratibha Sharma, president BWWA (BSF Wives Welfare Association) also participated in the closing ceremony. She was presented a colorful bouquet by the children.
During the ceremony the children shared their experiences and about the visit to many historical places of the country with the BSF officers and BWWA members. They spoke very high of the love they received from BSF and other agencies during the Bharat Darshan tour.
DIG BSF gave an inspirational and motivational speech to the children. The ceremony ended with group dance by the students on the tune of BSF song ‘Bharat ke har prant se bahaduro ka dal , Hum hai Seema Surksha Bal, Hum hai Seema Surksha Bal.
The Bharat Darshan tour was started on Dec 25, 2015, when 39 students (19 girls and 20 boys) belonging to remote region of Jammu left for Ahmedabad to attend the National Integration Camp in Rajkot from Dec 27 to Jan 3, 2016. The camp was addressed by many intellectuals of world fame and the children were benefited from these lectures. After the camp the students visited Delhi, Agra and Amritsar also. The students got a chance of interaction with Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat and Kiren Rijju the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs.
The students also visited Science City, Akshardham Temple, Sabarmati Ashram, Red Fort, Nehru Planetarium, Qutub Minar, Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri, Jalianwala Bagh and Golden Temple. The students were overwhelmed during their ride in Delhi Metro. Students were also delighted to see the colourful ‘beating the retreat’ ceremony at Wagah Border.
