JAMMU, Feb 21: Tarun Gorkha has brought laurels to BSF school by winning Gold Medal in the upper weight category i.e. 69 Kg of sub-junior level in All-India Level Kick-Boxing Championship organised by WAKO INDIA which was held at Shivaji Chatterpatti stadium, Balewadi, Pune.
He fought three levels to win this prestigious medal. At first level he had a fight with a participant of Maharashtra and after qualifying the first level he fought with a participant from Odisha. In the final bout he gave a tough fight to a participant from Uttarakhand whom he defeated with a score of ‘8-5’ with three points.
Participants from 25 states took part in this championship. Nearly 1500 students participated in this mega event. There were 60 participants of J&K State and about 12 from BSF school.
