SAMBA, June 28: The 53rd Nad Kesari Dangal was organized in the Nud area of district Samba here today in which famous wrestlers from across India participated and showed their prowess.
It is for the first time in the area that women wrestlers from other States also showed their prowess and won the matches. Senior BJP leader Narayan Singh was present as the chief guest in the Dangal which was organized by Nud Dangal Committee.
There were around 80 wrestling matches held in the event. Three big matches were held in which BSF’s Neeru wrestler won the title by defeating Daler Khan for a sum of Rs 71,000, while another wrestler Rashid won the title by defeating Delhi’s Nishant.
Apart from this, a big match was held between Nikhil and Lalit Mathura, in which Lalit won. On this occasion, Narayan Singh honored all the winner and runner-up wrestlers by giving them cash prizes.
Principal (Retd) Didar Singh advised the youth to stay away from drugs. Former Municipal Councilor Pawan Kohli, retired Principal Didar Singh, former VDC chairman Dev Raj, BJP senior leader Amar Singh, BJP youth leader Vinod Singh Binny, former Sarpanch Surinder Singh, former Sarpanch Ramesh Singh, former Sarpanch Karan Singh, Gurdev Singh, Jaswant Singh, Narinder Singh, Baldev Singh, Roshu Sharma, Omkar Singh, Yashpal Sharma and Balveer Kumar were also present on the occasion.
