JAMMU, Mar 15: State unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) celebrated the 80th birthday of the founder the party Kanshi Ram at the party headquarters here today.
A function in this connection was organised here under the chairmanship of party president Tulsi Dass Langeh. State vice president of the party Ratan Lal Chargotra and party’s candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Ashok Kumar Bhagat were the guests of honour. Several other leaders and party workers were also present.
The function commenced with the garlanding of the portrait of the founder leader of the party. The speakers highlighted the sacrifices and contribution of Kanshi Ram for the people from poor and down trodden sections of the Society and the party. They described him as `Massiha’ of the poor. Under his leadership the BSP which was earlier known as DS-4 or BAMCEF, emerged a strong force in Utter Pradesh and other parts of the country.
They said that Kanshi Ram sacrificed his life for the cause of his people and gave alternative to the people of the country. The BSP is not only emerging stronger in UP but in other States of the country also. It has major contribution for the formation of Government at the Centre.
