BSP celebrates Mayawati’s birthday as Jan kalian Divas

JAMMU, Jan 15: The birthday of former Chief Minister of UP and supremo of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Miss Mayawati was today celebrated by her Party as Jan Kalian Divas.
In this connection a grand function was held near BSP Office Complex Narwal Pain here. The function was presided over by BSP State vice president Rattan Lal Chargotra and state president of the Party Tulsi Dass Langeh was the chief guest on the occasion.
A large number of people including BSP activists attended the function.
As per the Party programme the birthday of Mayawati was celebrated at every district headquarter of the State also.
As the day was celebrated as Jan Kalian Divas the BSP leaders distributed blankets, woolen clothes, books and many other items to people and students.
In his address Tulsi Dass Langeh highlighted the role of Mayawati in recently concluded Parliament session. He said the BSP chief forced the Government to build a memorial of Dr B R Ambedkar at Mumbai where he fought his entire life for the rights of the down-trodden.
He said this was a long pending demand of the people of Maharashtra to have a memorial of Baba Sahib in Mumbai but the demand was never conceded by the successive governments of Maharashtra.
Besides the introduction and passage of Bill for reservation in promotions for the inservice employees SC/ST communities is another great achievement of BSP leader, he added.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Ratan Lal Chargotra, Rakesh Wazir, Ajab Singh Motan, Pawan Gupta and Ayodhya Kumar.
BSP Unit District Kishtwar also celebrated the day as Jan Kalian Divas and organised a function under the chairmanship of BSP, State secretary Capt (retd) Dewan Chand. On the occasion several items including blankets, notebooks and shawls were distributed among the people.
The day was also celebrated at Rajouri by the Party and a meeting in this regard was held by BSP workers under the leadership of Sheraza Mirza and district president Mohammed Rafiq Inqlabi.
