Sir,
Around 8 lakh persons with disabilities were highly disappointed when the Finance Minister didn’t even utter a word for their empowerment and development. The rehabilitation of persons with disabilities was not mentioned. We the persons with disabilities of J&K state face immense challenges. We had faith that the coming Budget will include persons with disabilities by giving:
* Employment opportunities
* Accessibility in ongoing infrastructure
The important word used by the Finance Minister was inclusivity but we were completely excluded. In pre budget Statement the Finance Minister said that budget will benefit the under privileged. It has maximum for the underprivileged. But disability sector has been ignored, why? Even in previous budget the Finance Minister had promised of enhancement of social security pension for the disabled but that too has not been implemented yet.
