Budhwani Cricket Club wins cricket tourney

SAMBA, Nov 3: Budhwani Cricket Club claimed victory in the inaugural Veer Abhimanyu Memorial Cricket Tournament, defeating Kotli Mandi Cricket Club in the final held at Thalora Mandi Sports Ground. Batting first after winning the toss, Budhwani scored an impressive 112 runs in just 12 overs, with player Abhimanyu contributing a crucial 44 runs to set a challenging target.
In response, Kotli Mandi struggled to keep pace and was bowled out for 73 runs, handing Budhwani the trophy. The tournament featured eight teams and was organized to honor the memory of Veer Abhimanyu, a talented cricketer from Thalora Mandi.
SSP, Samba Vinay Kumar, the chief guest at the event, presented awards to the players and emphasized the significance of sports in promoting physical fitness and steering youth away from negative influences. He praised the local youth for organizing such tournaments, providing valuable opportunities for aspiring athletes to showcase their talent.
