Bumpy roads on way to Reasi

REASI, July 1: Traveling on the bumpy road stretches from Katra to Reasi is nightmarish for the locals as well as the pilgrims visiting holy case shrine of Shiv Khori here.
Around 5 km stretch from Bhaga to Saldi and Karua is in extremely bad condition and apparently never repaired since decades.
While traveling on this stretch is extremely uneasy for commoners, it is fatal for the pregnant women, who need to take extra ordinary precautions for the safety of unborn baby as well as her own.
“The issue in this regard was taken up with the higher authorities from time to time but there has been only assurances and no action on ground,” rued a local.
When contacted, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ravinder Kumar told the Excelsior that  Rs 16 crores work for black topping  of this  stretch of the road has been allotted and the job is likely to be finished by the contractors within weeks.
