SRINAGAR, Dec 27: Police today claimed to have busted a gang of burglars in Ganderbal district after arresting five persons.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal Mohammad Rasik Mir told media persons that they arrested five persons who were involved in theft cases in the area.
Mir said that three cases under FIR under Nos 58/2013, 88/2013 and 300/2013 under Section 457/380 were registered against unknown burglars in this connection and investigation was started to nab the culprits.
The DSP said that during the investigation four burglers Sarafraz Ahmad Laway of shalpora,Tariq Ahmad Rather of Pati shalbugh,showkat Ahmad saad and Ab Ahad Daga of Narainbagh were arrested who confessed to the crime.
He added the burglars admitted to have have sold the looted items to Ab Khaliq Baja of Shalpora Naidkhai, Bandipora.
“We have received clues of other burglary incidents which took places in different markets of the Ganderbal this year and we are expecting breakthrough in those cases too,” he claimed.
