Bus driver arrested with 600 ltrs K oil, ration dealer flee

JAMMU, May 9: Police today seized 600 litres of kerosene oil meant for public distribution and arrested a bus driver, while the Government ration dealer, who was selling the kerosene oil to earn illegitimate profit escaped from the spot in Gulabgarh Basti, falling under the jurisdiction of RS Pura police station.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police team from RS Pura police station headed by SHO Jai Pal Sharma conducted a raid in Gulabgarh Basti and apprehended a bus driver along with 600 litres of kerosene oil meant for public distribution.
The accused driver identified as Ruldha Singh, son of Dewan Singh of Kool, RS Pura was arrested while the Government ration dealer namely Raj Kumar, son of Om Parkash of Gulabgarh Basti fled from the spot after seeing the police party.
The ration dealer instead of distributing the kerosene oil to the masses was selling the same to a bus driver to gain illegitimate profit.
A case under FIR number 97/14 under Section 3/7 Essential Commodities (EC) Act, 409, 109 and 411 RPC has been registered at police station RS Pura and manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding Government ration dealer.
