JAMMU, Oct 28: Bharat Vikas Parishad J&K Prant organizes National Patriotic Group Song Competition at Govt Women College, Parade, here today.
Prof. Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the College was the chief guest on the occasion.
About 10 teams from different districts of Jammu participated in the Competition.
The programme started with the lighting of the lamp and recitation of Vande Matram.
Arun Sharma, State president BVP gave the welcome address and exhorted upon the teachers to inculcate the spirits of Nationalism and Patriotism among the students.
Dr Santosh Gupta, National Convener BVP spoke on the activities of the BVP, while Prof D R Kotwal, Zonal Secretary, Rakesh Sehgal, Zonal General Secretary also spoke on the occasion.
Prof Hemla Aggarwal appreciated the activities of the BVP in promoting the moral values and the feeling of Nationalism among the students.
The result was declared by Prof Vijaylakshmi convener of the programme. In Hindi category KC Gurukul took the 1st position, while APS Sunjwan and Dogra Hr. Sec. School Shastri Nagar took 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In Sanskrit category KC Gurukul and Shishu Mandir Reasi took the Ist and 2nd positions respectively.
R C Sharma presented the vote of thanks.
The participating teams were given the mementoes and certificates.
The function was conducted by Amita Sharma, State General Secretary. The momentous were sponsored by the family of Lt. Ramswarop Gupta, the founder president of the BVP. The winning team at the state level is going to represent the State at the National Level Programme in Mumbai and Pantnagar (Meerut).
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vijay Sharma, Y R Gupta, B B Sawhney, V P Gupta, Dr Subash Gupta, M L Vaid, T C Taggar, Bhopal Dutta, Ashok Khajuria and O P Gupta.
