Cable car project awaits clearance

SRINAGAR, Oct 10:
The Government is still awaiting clearance from Wildlife Department for Cable Car Project in Jammu.
The issue was raised by Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Independent, during a discussion on tourism sector in the Assembly here today.
Mr Sharma alleged that the project was approved eight years ago by the Government. But, he said, no work had been done so far.
He wanted to know when the work on the project, costing more than Rs 36 crore, would be started by the Government.
Minister of State for Tourism Nasir Aslam Wani informed the House that the construction for the project has been completed.
However, he said, the Government was waiting for clearance from the Wildlife Department, necessary to start work on the project.
Mr Wani assured the member that as soon as the clearance is received, work will be started. (UNI)
