Srinagar, Aug 23: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today in statement said that calling off NSA level talks by Pakistan was unfortunate and disgusting.
He said that “anti-peace’ elements are always desirous of scuttling and destabilizing the peace process between India and Pakistan and this time too they have succeeded in their mission.
Former Minister said that Pakistan and India are taking poor and innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir for a ride because hostile atmosphere between them has a negative bearing on the poor people of J&K.
While criticizing the Central Government for adopting double standards in respect of Hurriyat, Vakil said that on the one hand Hurriyat Leaders are given Passports and Visas to visit Pakistan and facilitated to meet everyone there but on the other hand they are being restrained to meet same people from Pakistan in their own country which is beyond prudence.
He said that BJP has deviated from the path of Mr. Vajpayee which was chosen by him to defeat the ugly designs of those forces which are inimical to peace initiatives in the subcontinent.
Hitting out at the PDP, Vakil said that Mufti Mohammad Syed’s rhetoric of North Pole -South Pole politics proved to be a hollow slogan for the sake of grabbing power. He said that not to talk of the North or South Pole buildups, PDP leadership has failed to maintain the respect of its own ‘Agenda of Alliance’.
