Canara Bank Blues lifts cricket title

JAMMU, Nov 26:  The Canara Bank Officers Association JK region having its head office at Chennai and representing membership of more than 27000 officers across the country lead by GV Manimaran at Chennai and it’s JK leadership lead by Sandeep Gupta as secretary for J&K and Mr Harish Salotra as Chairman JK organized it’s first historic CANPAL T20 Cricket Cup at State Sports Council ground, Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar, here.
The match was played between 2 teams of the Association one in Blue and other in Red colour.
Blue team was lead by skipper Govind and Red team by Vikramjeet.
Red Team won the toss and elected to field. A target of 170 runs was given by Blue Team, which Team Red could not chase.
Harish was declared as the man of the match. Archana got the best women player award.
Ashwani Bhat bagged the best scorer trophy whereas Stanzin got the best bowler trophy.
Sushil Kumar and Harish  got the award for hitting highest sixes, while Saloni Wahi was given best cricketing spirit award.
Anil Kumar Jha, chief manager of the Bank was the match referee and Rakesh Choudhary and Karan Gupta were the two umpires.
Ranjit Kalra a former cricketer and Vice Chairman Sports Council Jammu and Sports Advisor to Government of Lakshadweep was the chief guest on the occasion, while SK Bhanu, Acting Regional Head for JK for Canara Bank distributed the prizes.
He also highlighted the role of Canara Bank in sports and other social activities.
