UDHAMPUR, Jan 27: Police today seized 850 grams Cannabis from the possession of a drug peddler, who along with a female was travelling in a car when they were intercepted at Naka point Motorshed on the National Highway at Chenani.
The Eeco car bearing registration number JK05H-6163 was on way from Kashmir to Jammu when it was intercepted by a Police party, led by SHO Chenani, Rohit Dev. During search, one packet of cannabis, weighing about 850 grams, was recovered from the car.
Driver of the car, identified as Amitpal Singh, son of Amrik Singh of Kanispora Baramulla and his female associate were taken into custody.
Police also seized the vehicle and registered a case FIR No 07/2020 U/s 8/20 NDPS Act at Police Station Chenani for further investigation.
