Cantt Club outplays KC Sports Club by 3 wkts

AKHNOOR, Nov 15: Cantt Cricket Club defeated KC Sports Club by 3 wickets in the quarterfinal to enter the semifinals of the ongoing 7th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor at Govt Higher Secondary School ground, here.
Earlier, winning the tos and batting first, KC Sports Club scored a decent total of 152 runs in 19.1 overs. Ateev Saini top scored with 34 runs, while Shashi and Vivek Sharma contributed 23 and 24 runs to the total respectively. Dheeraj and Vijay Dogra took 3 wickets each for Cantt Club, while Pranav took 2 wickets. Rakesh AND Parshotam claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Cantt Club reached the target easily in 17 overs by losing 7 wickets, thus won the match by 3 wickets. Vijay Dogra top scored with 57 runs, while Rakesh and Sagar scored 27 and 15 runs respectively. For KC Sports Club, Arjun Chowdhary was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets, while Vivek, Shashi and Ajay claimed one wicket each. Vijay Dogra was declared man of the match.
In another match of the day, Eleven Star Akhnoor defeated Shine Star Jammu in a one-sided contest. Shine Star scored a paltry total of 59 runs in 15.1 overs, while Eleven Star chased it easily in 5.5 overs. Vikas Sharma was adjudged man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Rajinder Sharma and Dayal Singh as umpires, while Ashu maintained the scorebook.
