Capacity workshop on National Tobacco Control Prog held

JAMMU, June 23: A capacity workshop on National Tobacco Control Programme was organized in DPL Jammu, in which about 150 police officers/officials of district Jammu participated.
The workshop was conducted by Jammu Police in collaboration with J&K Voluntary Health Organization under Dr NC Prabhakar, who along with other resource persons including Ashutosh Sharma and Dr Nidhi addressed the workshop, and explained the ill affects of the Tobacco in detail to the participants.
A presentation was also given to the officers and jawans present on the occasion.
The officers and jawans present on the occasion were motivated to say no to drugs and discourage smoking habits. Also to ensure that the Control of Tobocco Products Act (COPTA), which covers prohibition of advertisements and regulation of trade and Commerce, production, supply and distribution of tobacco and tobacco related products be strictly implemented and smoking in public places–workplaces, shopping malls, airports bus and train stops, hotels, cinema halls, shops, restaurants etc properly checked.
Rahul Malik, SP South, Randheer Singh, SP Headquarters Jammu and Rajinder Singh, DySP DAR DPL Jammu were also present on the occasion.
