CAPD imposes fine of Rs 44000 on defaulters

JAMMU, Mar 18: A team of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department booked 84 defaulters in the city and imposed a fine of Rs 44,000 on them.
On the directions of the Director CAPD Jammu, G S Chib the team led by Dy Director (Supplies) Atamdev Singh, assisted by other officials/ inspectors conducted market checking at Jewel Chowk, Talab Tillo, B C Road, Shakti Nagar, Satwari, Gandhi Nagar, Bari Brahamana,  Kunjwani, New Plot and Janipur and challaned 84 traders for defaults under provisions of Essential Commodities Act. Domestic LPG cylinders being used by many tea stall and Dhaba owners were also seized. A fine of Rs 44,000 was recovered from the defaulters.
