Cardamom futures remain weak on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 4:  Cardamom prices fell further by 0.48 per cent to Rs 786 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in reducing positions, taking negative cues from spot market on subdued demand.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August month declined by Rs 3.80, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 786.00 per kg in business turnover of 52 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in September contracts traded lower by Rs 3.60, or 0.46 per cent to Rs 779.70 per kg in 35 lots.
Market analysts said besides easing demand at the spot market, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
