JAMMU, Aug 19: Career Abacus, a leading Abacus teaching institute awarded certificates and prizes to its meritorious students in a function held at its Rehari Centre, here today.
S Rabinder Singh, retired Chief Engineer was the Chief Guest and Dr Gurdeep Kour, retired Principal was the guest of honour.
Earlier, Juicy Sharma, a student of the Institute presented welcome address, while the function started with a melodious welcome song by student of the Institute, Eklavya Suri.
Painting Competition was also organized on the occasion in which more than 150 students of different schools participated. Prizes were distributed among the winners of various categories.
In between the function a demo of little kids was conducted which left the audience spell bound with the speed and accuracy of the kids. The parents were highly appreciative of the quality of education being imparted by the Institute.
About 35 students of the Institute were awarded Certificates of completion of 1st Stage of their Abacus Program called “Career Abacus Champ”. Students scoring 100% marks in their exam were awarded gold medals and those who were awarded gold medals included Sakshi Goria and Samridhi Mahajan.
Arvind Sharma, Director of the Institute explained the benefits of abacus to the audience and stressed upon the need to teach this skill to all the students in the age group of 5 to 13 years. He said that abacus not only helps in improving the arithmetical skills but it improves the memory, listening skills, imagination, creativity, self reliance and above all self confidence of the students.
Pominent among others present on the occasion were Atul Mahajan (Franchisee), Shruti, Rajneesh, Sheetal, Divya (Coordinator), Akanksha, Ramandeep, Kuljeet Kour, Radhika and Ajay Kumar.
