JAMMU, Nov 20: Career Abacus, a leading Abacus Teaching Institute organized State level competition for the students of Abacus in the Auditorium of M.N.K.G. Montessori School, here at Gandhi Nagar, in which children from the age group of 5 to 13 years participated.
More than 600 students participated in the event. On the occasion Dr. Jitender Khajuria, Registrar Jammu University (cluster) was the Chief guest. Dr. Naveen Anand was the chief guest and Champion of Champions 2016, Vanshika Bhushan of Caramel Convent and Rabseerat Kour of Air Force School were also present.
The competition was organized as per the guidelines provided by the GAZMA which is a global organization conducting International Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competitions.
Arvind Sharma, Director of Career Abacus informed that aim of this competition is to promote the learning of Abacus and Mental Arithmetic. Children are given a chance to compete among themselves and win prizes. Children were given100 to 200 questions according to the stage they were studying which were to be completed within a time frame of 8 minutes. Due to vigorous training provided at Career Abacus’ 32 Centers in J&K, Children were able to answer the trickiest of mathematical questions in seconds.
Everyone present at the examination hall was amazed to see the speed and accuracy of little children who were from different schools and standards (from K.G to 8th). The competition was conducted in different levels and age groups.
A large number of parents witnessed this competition during which they were informed about the International Competition held at Bangkok and about the results of International Grading Examination held in the month of July.
Parents were informed about the next International Competition to be held in South Africa. At the end of the exam refreshment was distributed among the students. The parents were also informed that Career Abacus is the only institution which has been conducting State level competition every year since its inception without any break. Children were seen coming out of the examination hall happily and satisfied after the performance. Parents were informed that abacus not only helps in improving the arithmatical skills but it improves the memory, listening skills, imagination, creativity, self reliance and above all self confidence of the students. For smooth conduct of the exam Shivani, Vishali Sudan, Bandana, Tanya, Amrita, Sheetal Gupta, Gourav, Bhushan, Taniya, Anuradha, Monika, Rimpi, Mehak, Gaurav, Garima, Arti Bedi, Rohan, Amanpreet, Muskan, Jasdeep Kour, Dawar, Kuldeep, Anita Koul, Chandni, Ajay Kumar, Shakuntlaand Vikram were also present.
Arvind Sharma, Director of the institute thanked all the participants, parents and school management for cooperating and making the event successful.
