JAMMU, Sept 28: Career Abacus, a leading Abacus Teaching Institute, organized Prize Distribution Ceremony of the Painting Competition in the Auditorium of MNKG Montessori School, Gandhi Nagar, here today.
S Rabinder Singh, retired Chief Engineer and chairman of the School and Prof Gurdeep Kour, Principal of the School were the chief guests.
The function started with the welcome address by Rama Sharma followed by lighting of Ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries on the occasion.
Saraswati Vanadana and few other programmes were conducted by the little children of the School which mesmerized the audience.
Prizes were distributed among the winners of various categories.
A demo, in which the little kids displayed speed and accuracy was conducted by Divya.
Parents showed satisfaction over the quality of education being imparted by the Institute.
The students who participated in the demonstration were Pragun Sharma, Aragya Gupta, Bharat Washal, Sargun Kour, Sneha, Kanav, Akashdeep, Ronak Singh and Prabhnoor Singh.
Arvind Sharma, Director of the Institute threw light on the benefits of Abacus and stressed upon the need to teach this skill to all the students in the age group of 5 to 13 years.
He said that Abacus not only helps in improving the arithmetical skills but it improves the memory, listening skills, imagination, creativity, self-reliance and above all self confidence of the students.
The programme was conducted by Akanksha, Divya, Suman, Karishma, Renu Gupta, Aruna, Rinku and Hem Raj.
The function ended with a group photograph and vote of thanks by Juicy Sharma.
