Carmel Convent organizes singing competition

JAMMU, June 6: Carmel Convent School, Jammu organized a singing competition christened as ‘Carmel Idol’ for its students, here today.
The Student Council of Carmel Convent School, Kunjwani organized the function to explore the hidden talent in Carmelites.
Out of a total of 140 participants, 16 students from junior group (V-VII) and the senior group (VIII-X) emerged finalists in the competition after two elimination rounds. Finally, four students from each group were declared as winners.
The main objective of the programme was to unravel the talents of the students who often remain unaware of their aptitude. The students were judged on the basis of their pronunciation, expressions, them, rhythm and the beats.
The exciting part of the activity was that some of the teachers also participated in the event, which created a thrill on the campus and among the students.
The students were prepared by music teacher Rajesh Verma and Neera Jamwal.
The Principal of the School, Sr Maria Suzette A C lauded the efforts of the students for this achievement.
