JAMMU, July 29: A protest demonstration by the casual labours of Floriculture Department was held in front of Divisional Commissioner’s office, here today.
Casual labours were protesting against wrong policies of the State Government. They were seeking regularization of nearly 300 casual labours of Floriculture Department in Jammu who have been working in the department for the last more than 10 to 15 years.
The workers were demanding that all those who have been engaged and or trained in Floriculture should be regularized. They alleged that Government has not framed policy for their regularization till date.
Addressing the protesters, Mohd Gafoor Dar, State president, J&K National Trade Front urged upon the Minister of Floriculture Department for framing of immediate regularization policy for those engaged after 1994. He demanded that while engaging fresh candidate the interest of already engaged casual labours should be taken care of.
