JAMMU, Feb 3: The Crime Branch (CB) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested a man from Jammu for allegedly forging Government appointment orders to cheat unemployed youth.
“The accused Manzoor Hussain Qadri son of late Ghulam Hassan Qadri, resident of village Poshwani, tehsil Pattan, district Baramulla, along with co-accused Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai of Bani Mulla (Kulgam) and Fayaz Ahmed Dar of Chanpora (Pattan) used to lure unemployed youth on the pretext of arranging jobs in the Forest and other Government Departments, a spokesperson of CB Jammu said.
He said a written complaint was lodged with the Crime Branch in Jammu by Raman Kattru and others, alleging that the accused persons on the pretext of arranging Government jobs duped them after issuing fake appointment orders in their favour.
“In 2013, the complainant met Fayaz Ahmed Dar, who introduced him to Ghulam Hassan Qadri, and they promised him to arrange a Government job for him in the Forest Department of J&K. He was given an appointment order for the post of Forester and asked to pay Rs 4,50,000,” he said, adding, Kattru managed the money by selling his wife’s jewellery.
The spokesperson said in a similar way, the accused also duped many other job seekers. Qadri had served as an employee of the Forest Department but was later dismissed from service. He also has 8 criminal cases registered against him in different police stations, he added.
