CB organizes 2 day workshop on cyber techniques in investigation

JAMMU, Nov 16: State Crime Branch, today organized two days’ workshop on cyber techniques in investigation of crimes at Police Auditorium Gulshan Ground, here, which was inaugurated by Muneer Ahmed Khan, Inspector General of Police, State Crime Branch.
About one hundred nominated officers from the Crime Branch, Jammu and Jammu Zone attended the workshop which has been organized by State Crime Branch, J&K as keeping in view the fast growing menace of cyber-crimes in the State of J&K an endeavour has been made to sensitize, educate and prepare the investigating officers to study the latest and emerging cyber techniques and work in the field more effectively and professionally.
Ishaan Sinha, Director Blaktronics and Advisor Cyber Crime Investigation at the National Investigation Agency and consultant to nationwide police forces and intelligence agencies has been specially invited for the workshop as a technical resource person to educate the officers with the latest cyber techniques which shall ultimately enable them to cope up with the emerging menace of cyber-crimes.
At the inaugural session of the workshop formal welcome address was presented by  Mubassir Latifi, Sr. Superintendent of Police Crime Branch, Jammu whereas the key note address was presented by Muneer Ahmed Khan, IGP State Crime Branch, J&K. In his address Muneer Khan IGP State stressed upon the officers that all out efforts be made to learn the latest techniques in dealing with the cyber-crimes as these crimes are the latest and perhaps the more complicated ones. They evolve from simple e-mail mischief to e-mail frauds, e-mail bombing and crashing servers etc.
The deliberations would also be made in the two day workshop on various measures to solve normal crimes by using various cyber techniques and other technological means which will make the job of investigation quick and much easier.
Amongst others who attended the inaugural session were Johny Williams, DIG State Crime Branch,  M. Sharief Chowhan, SSP, S.O to IGP State Crime Branch, Rajinder Katoch ASP, Crime Branch, Jammu, whereas the programme was conducted by  M. A. Almansoor Sr.PO Crime Branch, Jammu.
