CBI arrests ASI for accepting bribe

KATHUA, Aug 29: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today caught Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Jammu and Kashmir Police red handed while accepting bribe here today.
As per police sources, a team of CBI Jammu caught red handed ASI Bhuri Singh posted at Police Station Kathua while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000.
He was arrested by CBI team on the complaint of a transporter namely Devinder Singh, a resident Jalandhar, Punjab. ASI demanded bribe for releasing the seized truck of the complaint despite court order. Click here to watch video
While talking to media persons, the complainant said that despite getting release order of his vehicle from the Court, the said police officer was demanding bribe of Rs 5,000.
“I approached CBI Jammu yesterday evening and today the ASI was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 during a trap”, the complainant said.
Further investigation into the case is going on, CBI officials said.
