CBI nabs 2 AIR officials

JAMMU, Jan 21: The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) today conducted a raid at All India Radio (AIR) office at Panjtirthi, Jammu and arrested its two officers red handed taking corruption from one of the former employee for settling his pension case and Sixth Pay Commission arrears.
A CBI team arrested Hazra Begum, Accounts Officer and Jagdish Raina, Head Clerk in AIR Jammu as soon as they demanded and accepted Rs 3000 corruption (Rs 1500 each) from former AIR employee, Harjit Singh of Nanak Nagar for settling his pension and Sixth Pay Commission arrears, which were being delayed for past one year.
The CBI arrested both the officials red handed taking the graft amount in the present of independent witnesses and Magistrate. The corruption amount was recovered from them.
Later, the CBI teams raided residence of Hazra Begum at Radio Colony, Bantalab and Jagdish Raina at Janipura.
Hazra has been lodged in Women Cell, police station at Canal Road and Jagdish Raina at CBI police station.
Case under Anti-Corruption laws has been registered against both the accused for further investigations.
Police parties headed by CBI Inspectors Kamal Sangra, Bhagwan Dass Dandiya, Deedar Singh and Lalit Kumar besides the lady staff conducted the raid under the supervision of SP CBI Armandeep Singh.
