CCIT inaugurates Swati Sharma’s exhibition of paintings, sculptures

JAMMU, May 2: Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Sangeeta Gupta today inaugurated “Studio Rang by Swati”-an exhibition of paintings and sculptures of self taught artist Swati Sharma at G R Santosh Gallery of Kala Kendra.
The women in Swati Sharma’s paintings and sculptures standout from, and at the same time, are a part of their surroundings. A nostalgic dream like quality permeates every brush stokes, transporting the viewer into a brighter world seen through the eyes of these women in the paintings.
Her paintings and sculptures portray insights into the human mind and bring forth spontaneity to the subject. She has chosen to depict, be it figurative, landscapes or abstracts.
Speaking on the occasion, Sangeeta Gupta, who is also an artist and writer, underlined the mature works of Swati Sharma. She observed that for inherent reasons, viewing any artistic creation evokes subjective responses. She complemented Swati Sharma for providing colourful expressions to women oriented themes in her paintings/ sculptures and wished her many years of creative artistic work ahead.
Among those present on the occasion were S K Sharma, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Sojanya Sharma, MD SIDCO and Secretary Kala Kendra, Prof Lalit Magotra and large number of writers, academicians and prominent citizens.
