LEH, Mar 12: To address the issues related to health sector in Leh district, the Chief Executive Councilor, Rigzin Spalbar today called on the Health Minister, Shabir Ahmad Khan at Jammu and sought the latter’s intervention in solving various issues.
The issues discussed during the meeting, included; early sending of 18 Doctors and release of Rs 22 crore that is sanctioned for Leh and Kargil under NRHM, sending of ambulances to Leh on the reopening of Srinagar-Leh Highway, granting of Sub District Hospital status for Khaltsi and Nyoma and opening of new medical centers.
Mr Spalbar also took up other important issues concerning smooth functioning of SNM Hospital and requirement of specialist doctors.
The Health Minister assured to do the needful on priority basis saying that 18 Doctors for Leh have already been sanctioned under NRHM and they would be sent to Leh soon according to the availability of seats in flights.
