Leh, July 22: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson chaired a meeting today to review the status and progress of the announced ‘Changthang Developmental Package’ (CDP) for the Changthang region here.
CEC Gyalson was apprised of the departmental wise status of plans and execution of work till now. He expressed his displeasure over the slow work progress despite the funds made available in the month of April 2021. Concerned Executive Councillor and Councillors from the Changthang region also shared their concerns and issues with regards to the implementation of CDP in the region.
He stressed the need for exploring sustainable projects in the agricultural sector for the entire Changthang region. He stated that the water from the river Indus can be used ideally with a proper irrigation system which can help irrigate water in converting barren lands into agricultural lands thus developing the region in a sustainable manner.
He also stressed a suitable and proper implementation of all the schemes as well as incentives to each and every people keeping in view the short working season due to the extreme climatic condition of the region. He requested concerned officials to implement projects in consultation with the concerned public representatives of the region.
Executive Councillor for Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, Councillor Nyoma, Ishey Spalzang, Councillor Korzok, Karma Namdak, Councillor Kungyam, Thinles Norbu, Dy Director Planning, CMO Leh, ACD Leh, DSHO Leh, CAHO Leh, CHO Leh, attended the meeting.
