KARGIL, June 5: Chairman and CEC LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan has raised the issue of exclusion of youth of Ladakh from the J&K Bank recruitments notified recently with Advisor of UT Ladakh.
Feroz Khan in a letter to the Advisor UT Ladakh with copies to the LGs of Ladakh and J&K besides the Chairman JK Bank, impressed upon the Advisor that Ladakh has contributed equally to the J&K Bank’s growth and therefore has equal right to employment in the bank. Limiting of recruitments of the bank only to domiciles of J&K therefore was an injustice with the youth of Ladakh.
He urged the Advisor to take up the issue with the Chairman J&K Bank so that rights of the youth of Ladakh are restored at the earliest. He said that on the strength of the Permanent Resident Certificate, residents of Ladakh shall be made eligible for the 1850 notified posts as well as all future jobs in the J&K Bank.
He further said that the provision for separate notification for residents of UT Ladakh makes no sense and has the potential to exclude the residents of Ladakh from their rightful opportunity to apply for jobs in the J&K Bank in the future besides setting a precedent which will put youths of Ladakh in a disadvantageous position.
He further impressed upon the Chairman J&K Bank to notify the provisions for residents of Ladakh before the beginning of date of registration for the 1850 posts of Probationary Officers and Banking Associates.
