JAMMU, July 17: Chain Singh along with other ace shooters including Sanjeev Rajput and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar clinched Silver medal in the Men’s 3-Position (3P) team event in the ongoing ISSF Shooting World Cup at Changwon in South Korea, today.
The Indian trio, which had finished second in the qualification stage, faced a strong Czech Republic team in the gold medal match. But despite putting up a good fight, the Indians went down 12-16 to the trio of Petr Nymbursky, Filip Nepejchal, and Jiri Privratsky.
It is pertinent to mention here that Chain Singh is resident of Bhalessa (Doda) representing India in the ongoing Shooting World Cup and excelled along with other team members in 50 Metres Rifle 3-Position team event, wherein more than 90 countries are participating.
With this achievement, Chain Singh brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir as well as the country by clinching Silver medal in 50 Meters Rifle team event.
DDC Vice-Chairperson Sangeeta Bhagat greeted Ace shooter of Bhalessa Doda, Chain Singh for making the nation proud.
He had won more than 90 medals in national and international events including 11 Gold medals, 4 Silver and four Bronze medals in international events. He represented the country in Rio Olympics 2016 at Brazil and Commonwealth Games 2018 held at Australia.
