KARGIL, July 11: Keeping in view the demand, topographical and demographical problem of Kargil district, Government will try to open a Postal Passport Seva Kendra in Kargil.
This was stated by Chairman, J&K Legislative Council (LC) Haji Anayat Ali while inaugurating the 4 days Passport Seva Camp at DC office, here.
Haji Anayat Ali told that he will take up the matter strongly with the Chief Minister as well as with the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Haji Anayat Ali said that the team of Abdul Rashid Baba, Senior Superintendent Passport Kendra Srinagar is doing its best whether it is during the camp at Kargil or at Srinagar. They are giving priority to the people and cases from Kargil and in this recently one youth of Kargil got selected for a course in Japan and they have completed the formalities of that youth on war footing so that the youth can join his course in Japan, he stated.
Abdul Rashid Baba while speaking said that they have more demand in Kargil and during the camp his team is putting their tremendous effort and on the first day more than 140 passport applications has been taken but due to the connectivity problem they are forced to slow down their pace of work.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain, District Accounts Officer Iftiqar Hussain, Headquarter Assistant Shabir Hussain and District Informatics Officer Iftiqar Hussain were also present.
