Challenger Club registers huge win over Panthers CC

4th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament

AKHNOOR, June 23: Sailing on a magnificent knock of unbeaten 88 runs by Ashu, Challenger Cricket Club, Jammu thrashed Panthers Cricket Club Jammu by a big margin to advance in the ongoing 4th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, Challenger Club scored a mammoth total of 202 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 6 wickets. Ashu slammed unbeaten 88 runs, which included 14 fours and 2 sixes, while Manjeet Singh, Ram Dayal and Madan Mohan contributed 30, 18 and 18 runs to the total respectively. For Panthers Club, Summit took 2 wickets, while Rohit, Gagan, Vishal and Vijay claimed 1 wicket apiece.
Panthers Club, in reply, scored 127 for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, thus lost the match by 75 runs. Honey top scored with 52 runs off 43 balls, while Vishal and Gagan contributed 16 runs each. Ashwani was the pick of the bowlers for Challenger Club, who took 3 wickets, while Manjeet Singh scalped 2 wickets. Praveen Singh, Madan Mohan and Sahil Bhalwal claimed 1 wicket apiece.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Jimmy Mangotra as umpires and Vinod acted as scorer, while the tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, organizing secretary.
